While the NASCAR driver sits and waits the most key personnel are hard at work. Sport figures not well recognized. The pit crew.

The Jack Man.. Probably the most famous Jack Man was Junior Johnson. Not only because he was a driver and NASCAR team owner but because of his one arm swing of the jack around the car from one side to the other. One time he warned a NASCAR official not to stand so close. The official became almost famous by not heeding the warning. Junior took him out with his swing.

Names of other Jack Men are hard to find. A few are Ed Watkins, Derek Keams, Mark Jacobs, Shaun Peet, Chase Rice, Kyle Roland, Bryan White, Jason Tate, Carey Wimbish, Josh Yost, Eric Wilson and the unnamed Jack Man that jumped over the 18 car when the 18 came too close in the pits.

These unsung heroes of NASCAR are a key part of the crew without which a NASCAR driver would be just sitting.
