ROSSBURG, Ohio -- Standing in a sweaty, mud and dirt-stained firesuit, Steve Kinser breaks his first smile all day.

The sun has just dropped behind the main grandstand at Eldora Speedway, finally allowing some relief from the 90-something-degree July heat. Now, it's just providing quite the orange to the night blue sunset overhead while the anticipation of the evening's big event rises with the intensity of the track's lights.

Kinser, standing on the right side of his four-wheeled, winged No. 11 machine -- just in front of the sponsor logos, of course -- is taping a television interview following his win in heat race No. 6 that slotted him in the pole position for the A-main, the 40-lapper to determine the victor of one of the Outlaws' biggest races.

The 20-time champion of and "King" of the Outlaws, Kinser finally allows a slight smile from underneath his well-trimmed mustache as the television pit reporter is forced to restart the interview twice due to technical mistakes and word gaffes.

Rain, for the love of Pete, go away
- What happens when you invite 20-plus NASCAR drivers to compete in a charity race at a half-mile dirt oval? Well, they bring rain -- just as they have for three of the past four NASCAR event weekends.
