Joey Logano, Kevin Harvick Trade Fenders, Verbal Jabs

A NASCAR veteran caught the ire of a sophomore driver and his father after spinning out the young driver at the end of of Sunday's Sprint Cup race at Pocono Raceway.

Kevin Harvick dipped inside of Joey Logano on the second-to-last lap of the 200-lap race as they battled for fourth place, made contact and spun Logano's No. 20. Following the race, Logano parked his Toyota alongside Harvick's No. 29 on pit road, promptly exited his car and engaged in a shouting match with Harvick -- all while being egged on by his father Tom Logano.

Afterwards, in a television interview, Logano said, "It's disappointing. We had a top-five run going. For us, that was going to be awesome and I was pretty pumped up about it."

Jimmie Johnson Captures First Duel

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Jimmie Johnson started the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup season as he ended 2009 -- as a winner.

Johnson nipped Kevin Harvick by less than a foot at the finish line after 60 laps around the high banks of Daytona International Speedway on Thursday in the first of two Gatorade Duels. The official margin of victory was five one-thousandths of a second -- the second-closest Duel finish since the advent of electronic scoring of NASCAR races in 1993.

Harvick had the lead coming off turn four, but he lost this race ins the same fashion he won the 2007 Daytona 500. That time, he was on the inside of Mark Martin and edged past him. This time, Harvick was on the outside of Johnson, and suffered the same fate as he dished out to Martin.

Johnson won the race in his backup car after a crash in practice Wednesday damaged his primary car.

"I didnt feel like beating this thing up anymore," Johnson said. "It just showed we build good race cars at Hendrick Motorsports. It wasn't easy driving a car that loose. But I'm really stoked."

Kevin Harvick Wins Second Straight Budweiser Shootout

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- With cars spinning out behind him, Kevin Harvick survived a green-white-checkered overtime to win Saturday night's Budweiser Shootout non-points race for the second consecutive year and become NASCAR's first winner of the season.

Harvick's No. 29 Shell-sponsored Chevrolet led Kasey Kahne and Jamie McMurray across the finish line under the yellow flag at Daytona International Speedway in a race that featured plenty of lead changes and bump-drafting at its best and worst. Four drivers swapped the lead in the final 12 laps of the 76-lap event.

Greg Biffle and Kahne opted to keep their Fords on track during the second-to-last caution period while the rest of the field pitted for fresh tires. Harvick immediately drove low inside Biffle on the restart and took the point moments before Biffle was hit from behind by Jeff Gordon, collecting a half-dozen cars in the melee.

Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin rounded out the top-five.

Richard Childress wore the expression of someone who's learned to operate "in the big picture" as he calmly, thoughtfully answered the tough questions about how his mighty racing organization has endured the struggles and frustration of a winless 2009 season.

Lost in all the Jimmie Johnson and Mark Martin championship storylines, and the Dale Jr. non-championship hysteria, is the quiet dismay at RCR, which had three cars in the Chase for the Championship a year ago and not a single one of its now four-car stable qualify this fall.
