Richard Childress Racing announced Wednesday that it is adding a fourth team and bringing on
Paul Menard, a fourth-year Sprint Cup driver still looking for his first victory.
Sponsorship appears to be the least of the new team's challenges.
RCR and the Menards home improvement chain, owned by Paul's father, John, have signed a multi-year agreement for the Wisconsin-based company to become the car's primary sponsor.
Menards, the third-largest chain of home improvement megastores, has 255 stores in 12 states, all in the midwest.
"Paul has developed into a very good race car driver, and we see his move to RCR next year as an opportunity for him to continue that progress," Childress said in a
statement on the team's website. "Paul will fit in perfectly with our team of drivers at RCR, and they are all looking forward to working with him. We're also very proud to be aligned with Menards, one of the great family business success stories in American history."
